Many of these investors therefore perceive that they have little or no control over these investments. But Mark Szigety, Vice President and Head of Quantitative Risk Analytics at the Harvard Management Company , says this isn’t necessarily the case.In Managing Private Fund-Based Portfolios: A Search for Rebalancing Strategies , published in the Summer 2013 issue of The Journal of Portfolio Management , Szigety presents a framework for assessing strategies within the context of organizational objectives and concerns, evaluates rebalancing strategies and examines them over a range of possibilities.The research finds that overexposure is difficult to correct in the medium term without secondary sales.
